Letter from Pres. Milburn - 12-18-08

Dear Brother Boy,
We were pleased to welcome your son, Elder William Adam Boy IV, to the Virginia Richmond Mission. We love him already and are aware of his great potential to be an excellent missionary. He spent one day with us receiving orientation, and he is in good health and good spirits. His drive and determination will be of tremendous help as he joins a wonderful group of missionaries already serving the Lord in this area. Elder Boy has been assigned to the Newport News Zone. His first companion, Elder Nicholas Andrew Davis, is an excellent missionary and will do an outstanding job training your son for his service to the Lord.

Preparation day is Wednesday, which is when the missionaries may communicate with their families by letters or e-mails.

All mail and parcels should be sent directly to your missionary.
His new address is:
Elder William Boy IV
12944 Biltmore Ct. #F3
Newport News, VA 23602

We are thankful for the part you played in preparing Elder Boy to serve this mission, and we are honored to serve with him. Enclosed is a photo we took upon his arrival at the Mission Home. May the Lord abundantly bless you as you support him in this call.

Sincerely,
President and Sister Mark B. Millburn

Baptism of Amoni - 12-31-08

Well, another week has gone by and we had a baptism last Sunday. His name is Amoni and he speaks French. He is really cool and really loves the church.

I am cooking most of my own meals but alot of nights we have a dinner appointment and just don't have time, but I am still making it. We have been going on exchanges with other members and it is really nice not to have to ride my bike everywhere at night.

With New Years today we have to be back at the room by 5 PM and we can't go out after that time, so I will probably write a letter home and then sleep.

I have found that the few hours of sleep that I get are just bearly enough to get by, but I am still very tired during the day. As far as a letter every week I will probibly just send an email on Wednesdays because I really don't have enough time to write a letter by hand.

I hope that everyone is doing well and I can't wait to see everyone again. 22 months is a long time but if you look at it in fast Sundays then it really isn't that long at all. I just wish that the fast Sundays would get here a little faster

I love you all,
Elder Boy

Remembering Christmas talk - 12-31-08

I have enjoyed remembering the talk we had on the phone during Christmas. I only wish I had longer and less time away from you. The time out here seems really long but at the same time the weeks are going but really fast, I had been looking at the time that I have and it really doesn't look that long, but each day seems like forever.

I do love it here, and the members here are great. There have been some investigators that we have had to drop, but, there are others that are really working hard to make it to baptism.

I know that I have grown so much since that last 5 mins I had with you in the car. I wish that I would have made more time to talk with you thoughout the month I was home. I know that when I see you again that I will love the feeling even more than when I saw you at any time.

I love you and I always will. I will be able to call home on Mothers Day and because you and mom don't live together I will be able to call you too. I am looking forward to that time. Thank you for all of the love and support that you give me and all of the lessons you taught me through out my life

I love you
Elder Boy
